Mothersong
Mothersong is one of the best parts of my week. I sing and play guitar and drums for parents and their babies and toddlers. The group is lead by Leonora Willis and the song selection is very unique. There are ancient American Indian songs, African chants, and even Itsy Bitsy Spider. I throw in my original songs now and then, along with some Beatles. We generally have a group of about 30-40. We meet every Tuesday morning at 10 AM in Eagle Rock at the American Legion Hall (Colorado at Eagle Rock Blvd). I started doing Mothersong almost by accident- a friend recommended it and I was taking my daughter (Melody) every week, when we got an email the guitarist had left town and it was cancelled- I jumped in, learned the songs, and now I can’t imagine my week without it. Mothersong was started in Santa Cruz by Joya Winwood, CDs are available at this site:
