Camping!

Every so often we load up the gear and head out camping. We’re very lucky to have hundreds of options as far as where to go here in Southern California. Within about 1/2 hour are some of the most beautiful spots you’ll ever see, from the mountains to the ocean. Within a few hours…well, Yosemite comes to mind. Monday we re-arranged a couple of things in our schedules and, at the request of Alanna (10) camped out at Leo Carillo Beach, just north of Malibu. We even took the dog. It was really, really fun. We got a great spot- there were hardly any campers, being a weekday in the off season. We grilled hot dogs and made s’mores and told ghost stories. Then we listened to the ocean as we drifted off to sleep. Unfortunately, we had to hurry back for a couple of things I couldn’t get out of on Tuesday morning. But what a priceless little trip it was…
